Formation of Gibson County Chapter of SAFE KIDS of Tennessee

The Little Angels Club has announced  the formation of the Gibson County Chapter of SAFE KIDS of Tennessee to fight the number one killer of children ages 14 and under -- preventable injuries.

The coalition will work to reduce the number of children who die from motor vehicle and pedestrian injuries, bike crashes, fires and burns, drownings, poisonings and chokings, unintentional shootings and falls. Each year, nearly 6,300 children ages 14 and under die and more than 120,000 are permanently disabled each year from unintentional injuries.
The Gibson County Chapter is seeking organizations and businesses that will serve as part of the coalition. The chapter is seeking volunteers as well.

The Gibson County Chapter of SAFE KIDS of Tennessee  is part of the National SAFE KIDS Campaign, the first and only national organization dedicated solely to the prevention of unintentional childhood injury — the number one killer of children ages 14 and under. Nearly 300 state and local SAFE KIDS coalitions in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico comprise the Campaign.  Former U.S. Surgeon General C. Everett Koop, M.D., Sc.D., is chairman of the Campaign.
